Most infertility problems can be treated with basic treatments such as lifestyle changes, fertility drugs, ovulation induction with timed intercourse or intra-uterine insemination (IUI).
However some patients might need advanced treatments such as In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) & Intra-Cytoplasmic sperm Injection (ICSI).
Common causes of female infertility
Typically female infertility problems occur because of a woman’s age, personal habits & lifestyle. In certain cases, medical problems can also cause fertilization issues. These include:
Problems with ovulation
Damage to fallopian tubes or uterus
Endometriosis
Follicle problems
Low or diminished ovarian reserve / premature menopause

Most women can improve the chances of conceiving & pregnancy by making a few lifestyle changes, ovulation induction with timed intercourse or intra-uterine insemination (IUI).
Healthy Diet: Being under or overweight can lead to infertility problem, so adapting healthy diet can help to improve the chances.
Regular Exercise: Regular, appropriate levels of exercise helps to maximize fitness and keep your weight in check.
Yoga & Meditation: Yoga & meditation reduces stress, restores disturbed physiology of body.
However in some cases, medical treatments may be required.
1. Ovultation Induction
As described above most women can improve chances of pregnancy with ovulation induction with timed intercourse.
2. Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
IUI is a low-tech, low-cost infertility treatment.
Intrauterine InseminationIt is performed at the time of ovulation during the natural cycle. It can also be combined with the use of fertility drugs to enhance the chances of pregnancy.
Typically it takes only minutes to perform and is usually painless.
A pregnancy test is performed usually 14 days following an IUI.
3. In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
IVF or test tube baby treatment can be used in couples who have one or more of the following fertility issues
Blocked fallopian tubes or pelvic adhesions with distorted pelvic anatomy
Low sperm count or low motility
Failed 2-4 cycles IUI
Woman’s age – over 35 years
Low egg count
Severe endometriosis
IVF is the process of collecting eggs from the wife and sperm from the husband and fertilizing them in the Embryology Laboratory.
The treatment generally lasts for 16-18 days.
4. Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
ICSI involves injecting a single sperm directly into an egg in order to fertilize it.
The fertilized egg (embryo) is then transferred to the woman’s womb. The major development of ICSI means that as long as some sperm can be obtained, fertilization is possible.
